Nathan Setso Qi serves as the Treasurer of BAVA for the 2025–2026 term, bringing focus, accountability, and a strong sense of responsibility to the committee. Having lived in Melbourne for one year, Nathan is currently studying a Bachelor of Sports Management at Deakin University, where he is developing skills in leadership, organisation, and strategic thinking.
As Treasurer, Nathan plays a vital role in supporting the financial sustainability of BAVA, ensuring transparency, good governance, and responsible management of community resources. He approaches his role with diligence and a growth mindset, understanding that strong financial foundations are essential for building impactful and long-lasting community initiatives.
Nathan is motivated by a desire to give back and contribute meaningfully to the Batswana community in Victoria, particularly as a young leader finding his footing in Australia. He believes deeply in stepping up, taking responsibility, and learning through action — values reflected in his favourite Setswana saying, “Dipudi di kgonwa ke dinaka,” a reminder that leadership and direction come from taking charge and guiding with purpose.
Through his role on the committee, Nathan hopes to grow both personally and professionally while helping BAVA remain a trusted, well-run organisation that continues to serve its members with integrity and care.
