At the heart of BAVA is our commitment to stand with our community through life’s most challenging moments.
The Welfare & Support Program ensures that every Motswana living in Victoria has a support system to lean on — especially in times of loss, hardship and transition.
This is more than assistance.
It is our way of honouring botho, boikarabelo, and the deep cultural values that hold us together as Batswana.
Our Welfare & Support initiatives are designed to.
• Provide comfort and financial assistance during bereavement
• Support families navigating sudden hardship
• Offer community connection when people need it the most
• Uphold our cultural responsibility to take care of one another
Because no Motswana should face difficult moments alone.
BAVA offers a financial bereavement contribution to registered members who experience the loss of an immediate family member.
This support is made possible through membership contributions and the generosity of the community.
• Emotional support from the BAVA community
• Financial relief during a difficult time
• A dignified and respectful response rooted in our cultural values
• The comfort of knowing your community stands with you

BAVA’s Welfare & Support Program exists because:
• We believe in working together, rising together
• We value compassion and dignity
• We honour Setswana traditions of collective care
• We want every Motswana in Victoria to feel seen, supported and valued
