Khutlo Blessed Gwatiwa is a dedicated community builder inspired by the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” Born in Francistown and originally from Mandunyane, Khutlo carries a deep belief in unity, teamwork, and the power of collective progress. His life and leadership reflect his commitment to creating supportive, connected communities both within and beyond BAVA.
Professionally, Khutlo serves as a General Practitioner in regional Victoria, where he supports people from all walks of life. His work allows him to serve diverse multicultural communities, ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible, compassionate, and culturally aware. His dedication to service extends naturally into his engagement with the Batswana community.
Khutlo has a long history of involvement in BAVA, having previously served in key leadership roles including Secretary General and Vice President. His contributions across different committees have played an important role in strengthening community structure, cultural preservation, and consistent representation for Batswana in Victoria.
He is guided by the Setswana proverb “Mabogo dinku a thebana,” which reminds us that people are meant to support one another. This value continues to shape his approach to leadership, collaboration, and service — always centred on empathy, togetherness, and the belief that progress is best achieved as a united community.
Khutlo remains committed to helping BAVA grow into a strong, connected, and forward-moving organisation where every Motswana feels supported, represented, and empowered.
