Naledi Wadikonyana-Rannobe is the President of BAVA and a dedicated community leader with 14 years of lived experience in Victoria. Born and raised in Lobatse (Peleng) with family roots across Molapowabojang, Maisane, Mosamowakewna, and Kanye, Naledi moved to Melbourne in 2011 after completing her studies in Malaysia.
Professionally, she brings a strong background in Economics and Finance, with career experience spanning finance, accounting, PMO roles, project management, project governance, and professional services management within Melbourne’s corporate sector.
Naledi is passionate about community development and has long been involved in organisations that empower African and Batswana communities. She has volunteered with Africa Day Australia and co-founded Bua Learning, a not-for-profit teaching Setswana language and culture to Batswana-Australian children. Her strengths include people-connection, leadership, and driving collaborative initiatives.
As BAVA President, Naledi is committed to strengthening unity, creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration, and ensuring every Motswana in Victoria feels represented and supported. She hopes to position BAVA as a trusted connector for students, families, professionals, and businesses, while fostering partnerships with other multicultural communities.
Easy-going, approachable, and relatable, Naledi values the Setswana principle A re Ipelegeng and enjoys spending time in nature—hiking, running, and exploring local reserves. A fun fact: she has a deep curiosity about the universe and how the moon’s phases influence life on Earth.
